Canon Vixia HF20. What video editing software works with this model?
So guys, just bought a video camera VIXIA HF20 High Definition. its totally amazing. BUT …. it doesn't work with my editing software I have. I use Showbiz 2. I will buy a new one soon, one that can make a green screen, but I know what works with this model from Canon. Anyone have any Ideas? Or recommend a software? And does anyone know why videos Showbiz camera dont work?
The Canon VIXIA HF series definition video to record very high compression AVCHD MTS / files. The easiest would be to use a video editor that can deal with those files. Since you give us any information about your computer, assuming you have enough CPU speed, RAM and hard disk space to meet – better yet, exceed – the minimum requirements to deal with AVCHD / MTS files. Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere float on the top for Windows / Vista; iMovie and FinalCut '08 or later (Pro or Express) are recommended for Macintosh. MTS AVCHD files created. They are very compressed. Many editing applications can not cope with this relatively new video format.

Canon launched two similar cameras in the "pocket camera family" market. They are the Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS and its close relative, the Canon PowerShot SD780 IS.
A very quick glance in the specifications of these two shows compact pocket cameras that are almost identical. Here are some of the similarities:
- Size: 3.4 "wide by 2.2" tall by 0.7 "deep
- LCD: 2.5 "230,000 pixel resolution
- Zoom: 3x very similar equivalent focal
- Image quality: both are excellent for pocket compact cameras
- Open: not exactly the same but not enough difference for a case one way or another
- ISO range: Auto, or 80-1600
- White Balance Selection: 6 positions of manual and preset
- Image Processor: Canon DIGIC 4
The differences are only in the capablility megapixel video. The Canon PowerShot SD780 IS has a whopping 12-megapixel image sensor, while the Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS features an image sensor only 10 megapixels. If you are an observer of megapixels, it can be enough for you to go for the SD780 IS, but not really enough difference to base its final decision.
The biggest difference is in the video capture function. The Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS decent video has ability to 640×480 video capture at 30 fps (frames per second), which is similar to the previous pocket cameras. However, the Canon PowerShot SD780 IS has the ability to capture HD video at 1280×720 pixels and 30 fps. This is the same video capacity and format some cameras much more final high.
So if you want to be able to display your video camera in his pocket high definition TV with excellent quality, the Canon PowerShot SD780 IS is the camera for you. The 40 or so $ $ $ is well worth the upgrade at the source.
