I need to find a HDD camcorder with good picture quality .. help!?

I bought the Panasonic H80, and the picture quality sucked! When I left the image was grainy and no better than a cell phone camera. Now just spend my money on a Sony SR47. It's the best picture quality? Anyone know of a hard disc camera with good image quality when transferred to DVD? Thanks for the help
