I have a Sanyo Xacti VPC-TH1 camcorder, and autofocus is horrible. Any help?
Shot mostly action shots (BMX). I tried all the autofocus settings, but none of them work well at all. Can I get some help with this? Or should I use manual focus? Manual seems to work better, but using a fisheye lens and only go so far. And BMX shot from the distance of the target changes a lot. Any help would be nice.
Most videographers shoot manual, including the focus. It's hard to do that with a moving subject. The camera is optimized to focus on a moving car constant. Try to keep your camera angle perpendicular to the bicycle, while the frame. Getting closer to help too. You can also try to determine the hot spot in a rider that the camera can focus. You can experiment and see if it works better on a helmet or a shirt and colors. Check out the following article which explained on the autofocus.
