Need help choosing a good HD video camera
Looking for a video camera high definition home videos. Here are my requirements or specifications / Questions? 1) My budget: $ 1000 2) would be good to play my SD miniDV tape – but not a requirement. 3) What storage media [MiniDV / DVD / HD ...] would be better? 4) What would be the most reliable brand and provide video images of good quality? 5) I am thinking about "Canon VIXIA HV30 – pros and cons? Thanks a lot.
I do not think you need any help. The HV30 is a smart choice. Probably the best under $ 1,500 or menos. "Yes it can play simple SD miniDV cassettes. MiniDV-is by far the best format. HDV (MiniDV HD) is better in quality compared the HDD (hard disk), miniDVD, and flash memory, easier to edit (all programs are compatible), easier archivo.-Mark: No direct answer. Canon is a strong brand, especially in consumer cameras. Many people say Sony are the best, but there is no credible evidence to support this. Some of Sony are good, some are bad. Not much to it. All I can say the HV30 is Canon's Best! HV30 – PROS ….. Small, compact, easy to handle. Excellent image quality! Excellent color saturation! Excellent control automatic (auto focus camera super fast and super accurate) = large, great point and shoot. CONS: …… considering that the opposite is true, I can not think of many cons. The most notable would be that consumer camera, manual controls suck … has a sharp manual focus lens, which is a pain to use, and the rest of the controls (iris, shutter, etc) are hidden in the menu. Not much I can do about it. All consumer cameras today do not have decent manual controls. They make you buy a professional. If you prefer to keep it in automatic mode, it is no problem at all, but if you are a person a bit of manual control can be a bit frustrating. But considering how well the HV30 is in automatic mode, I do not think that's a big problem. If you are a bass freak Manual, the only solution would be, as the Central Motion Picture kind of suggested, buy a prosumer camera used. I think the HV30 is generally a better option. (The following "cons" apply to high-definition cameras are more general … "concerns" to be taken into account) _______________________________________ Another problem is the post-production and handling of high definition images. This is currently problematic in all HD cameras. Technology has not really reached with camera technology. HD footage is bulky on the computer. It is also difficult to see. Being that Blue Ray burners are incredibly expensive, can be a bit problematic. What will you do with the file of high definition? You can downconverter to SD, but that's a little silly. The best option is to Re-Export edited the film to tape and playback through camera on the TV via HDMI. Or you can shoot in standard mode Def DV. It's nice in the HV30. You may think it's silly to buy a high definition camera And only use the SD mode, but believe me, it's worth. The HV30 is excellent!
