Does anyone have any idea about the use of satellite dishes on the basis of an optical telescope? Please keep the topic

My stretch the budget to do meter diameter mirror (as my budget is nonexistent) so the idea is to use the surplus satellite dishes (or something homemade and saucer-shaped) as the telescope and then refine silver surface and them. Anyone tried this?. Fiberglass must stand up to temperature variations if I fill the back with something like cement absorb heat and harden. It is a very creative idea, but I see two problems. First, the antennas are usually of very short focal length – Only a few inches – so you have a problem in placing your secondary mirror. Secondly, many satellite dishes off-axis, so that the alignment going to be a real bear. Neither of them is insurmountable. If you can discover how to shape the surface with sufficient precision – that is another issue – I want to see how well it works!
