How do I transfer videos from a MiniDV camera to a computer?
Theres this camera I want, Cannon ZR-500 MiniDV Camcorder. But I have to be able to edit and cut images on my computer and burn it to DVD and more. I also know theres a fisheye lens for this camera, does anyone know how much Cost? Opinions are always good to tell me what you think about the camera if desired. After connecting your camera to a FireWire (IEEE 1394, i-Link), you can transfer your MiniDV to computer and edit the video with the free Windows MovieMaker or more professional software like Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle Studio

MiniDV camcorders are quickly becoming the recording formats of the old school for digital camcorders, and yet this format still has many benefits.
This type of camcorder should not be confused with mini camcorders, as they are not, MiniDV is synonymous with video compression and is named after the mini size cassette tapes in the video recording or video format. MiniDV tape formats are available both in digital video format and high definition and they can fit 60 minutes of video in DV and HDV and up to 90 minutes of DV in the environment of lower quality.
The new recording formats available, such as flash memory, hard disk and DVD, have taken much of the attention of MiniDV models, however, remains a model worth looking into when considering a digital camcorder to purchase.
