Why does this happen with my Sony HDD camcorder?

I have a Sony HDD camcorder and I connect to a PC, and reads like a hard drive and has All content, photos and MPEG clips, but … I connect to my MacBook and reads, photos, Mpegs also, but for some reason when I try to play MPEG LA, says "The video file is not valid" Someone knows how can I solve this problem or what goes on OSX? ?

Try playing with VLC Media Player. Quicktime is probably not the right codec to play them.
